Amazon is dropping no-checkout tech from many grocery stores
Amazon is struggling to make its Just Walk Out technology commercially viable.
In 2016, Amazon announced a no-checkout technology called Just Walk Out to great fanfare. Amazon launched its first Amazon Go store using the technology in 2018. That same year Bloomberg reported that Amazon “is considering a plan to open as many as 3,000 new AmazonGo cashierless stores in the next few years.”
